Ken Armstrong – Writer-in-Residence
Ken Armstrong was born in Sligo some forty very odd years ago. In 1992, his radio play Visualise was produced by Independent Radio Drama Productions and broadcast on LBC Radio in England. Soon afterward, his short story Long Distance won the Charles Dickens Museum Anniversary Short Story Competition and was subsequently published. A second radio production was then produced amd broadcast by IRDP. The following year, his full-length radio play To Sleep was a winner in the London Arts Board sponsored London Radio Playwrights Festival. It was produced and broadcast in five installments on LBC. A fourth radio play, The J-Seat was produced for RTE radio and broadcast as Radio One’s Play of the Week in August of 1997. Ken has also written several theatre plays.
Since his affiliation with Claddagh Films, Ken has written a short film called Channel 31 which will go into production in the Summer of 2009, and is currently working on two feature films for the company.
