This film was based on a short story (of the same name) written by legendary Galway novelist Walter Macken. The late Margaret Macken kindly allowed us permission to use the story in the film, and it was shot in San Jose, California over a few weekends in 1990 and completed in London in 1991. It was produced with the aid and assistance of the teaching staff of De Anza College. Editing was truly global, with parts of the film edited in De Anza College, the Film Arts Foundation in San Francisco, the London Film-makers Co-Op and the Film Resource Centre in Galway (now the Galway Film Centre).
