We shot the film in early July of 2009 in Castle Ellen , near Athenry. The house dates from the early eighteen hundreds and is being lovingly restored by Michael Keaney who has lived there for over thirty years.
We also shot some scenes in a “disused” graveyard near Kinvara, county Galway. They were shot on the night of July 4th (and morning of July 5th) which was also Ken’s birthday. I guess there are probably better ways of spending your birthday, apart from sitting in a graveyard watching Cosmo and Emily exhume their brother?
